Welcome to Honey Bee Rescue. If you are interested in the purchase of established Hives and Nucs below are our prices and warranties. If you have additional info please contact [email protected].
We take orders throughout the month and bees are available to pick up 1-2X a month to minimize the trips to the apiary. All our NUCs and Hives are sold with new Italian cross queens that are bred in our mating yards with many drones. We will spend the time to identify brood or queens in each box upon inspection.
Full hives consist of a solid bottom board with 3/8-inch gap to reduce robbing and pests of honeybees. A modified travel top which can be used as a bottom board in a pinch, one deep Langstroth box (new or newer equipment) with 10 frames or 8 with a 2-gallon internal feeder. Frames will be solid plastic or plasticell with wood in good condition. If there is an issue contact us above.
$300-350 depending on the time of year.
Nucs will be sold with 5 frames of drawn comb brood and a newly mated queen in a pro NUC box (plastic). The frames should be heavy with honey and syrup. NUC hives will be available both spring and fall and while supplies last.
$225-250 depending on the time of year.
We will also do a frame swap for a discount
What makes us different than all those selling bees?
We warranty our bees is what (see below). We also invest in people and help build beekeepers. We are around for all your questions and appreciate hobby and new beekeeper questions. Heck we were there once! We also appreciate all the referrals for bee removals from our network of new beekeepers and if your bees do too well…we will even buy back splits of your hives. Many of our beekeepers have seen a positive return selling q s and swarms over the years. Our investment is in you and our Bees. We can grow and learn together.
Our warranty on our bees consists of a good faith agreement with our clients to replace hives that have died with a wild type swarm of bees the following year if the bees die. We strongly encourage all clients to attend our Beekeeping Basics, Beekeeping 101 or private lesson offered each month at the Dallas Makerspace and follow our instructions precisely as keeping bees can be complicated and mistakes like moving hives short distances, overly inspecting the hive, failing to do mite treatment or take honey will cause issues with keeping honeybees.
